The 2021 Saint Kosmas Conference in Gold Canyon, Arizona, was attended by 320 people, representing 120 families from 20 states, and representing at least six Orthodox jurisdictions.

The entire conference was incredible experience of encouragement, recreation, recalibration, conviction, and tremendous joy. I could write three separate essays: one on the terrific accommodations at the Gold Canyon Golf Resort, another on the wonderfully prepared Lenten meals, and yet a more elaborate description of the UN-BE-LIEVE-A-BLE and PRICE-LESS lectures. I was especially delighted to visit each one of the vendors; so powerfully equipped! The children had a fantastic time, and on the drive back to Los Angeles they expressed that this conference is the place they found true, life-long friends. As I write this, there are three teenagers checking in on me, inquiring if I’ve yet signed us up for the 2022 conference. Now that’s an endorsement if I ever saw one! The staff couldn’t stop talking about how nice the children were at the Saint Kosmas event. They were the best-behaved children we’ve had here at the resort. Everyone at the Saint Kosmas Conference was so polite and thanked us repeatedly. It’s sad that we’re not used to this, but it was a fabulous experience for all of us here at Gold Canyon Golf Resort. I don’t know what you’re doing, but keep it up!!!! We walked away from this event feeling like there’s still hope for this world. What a great group! We can’t wait for next year!!!!

I am absolutely filled with joy to be here at the 2021 Saint Kosmas Orthodox Education Conference in Gold Canyon, Arizona. It is so encouraging for a priest to see families so enthusiastic and so devoted to serving the Church and raising their children in the love of God, close to the Church and living the Christian life. This is my third or fourth time at the Saint Kosmas Conference, but the first time at this venue in Gold Canyon and what a splendid venue it is! As I was standing on the porch of our room last night, here at the resort, watching that incredible sunset—the sunset was just magnificent, calling us to sing “O Gladsome Light”—my heart was blessed.
